Yes I am still alive, flat out packing house at the moment, trying to buy a new one and sell two others at the same time. So not much time apart from work and this thing I think they call sleep.
So wanted to "POP" in and say Gidday and to pass on a huge thanks to Mad Danno for his fierce defense of our little blog, the guy is a real gent in my eyes.
So bye bye to Aus Pop Mix, oh and thanks so much for actually sending me links to STUFF THAT WAS MINE OR DAN'S TO BEGIN WITH YOU TWAT. Not my most lady like moment guys and to you I apologise but that kind of behaviour shits me to tears.

Well it seems that my little blog has found itself on the hitlist of blogs being targeted and having posts removed for infringemants. So far I have had several posts removed so until I sort out the what and why's I will not be posting anymore links with my posts.

Well I am back from my little shopping trip, I love the Singapore Great Sale, it is two months of shopping maddness in such a great country is a must for everyone, not just us Gals. I got some great buys and even had time to re-visit some of my favourite tourist places from previous holidays.
Oh and I must say, to the lovely Miss Parker over there in Canada, shoes shoes shoes.... lol .

I have added 2 new album links tonight and I'd also like to share a new link to another side project I have been working on. I wanted to put up a list of Various Artists Releases that were of course released in Australia ( I'm not ready to take on the rest of the world just yet ). So using what I already own and things that people have generously sent me or that I have been able to obtain through the many blogs/sites I visit I have begun compiling a list. So if your interested take a look and please feel free to let me know of anything that I should add or corrections I need to make. A bit of a different post for you today. A Soundtrack, but a very good one. From the 1980 movie of the same name starring such actors as Tracy Mann ( she won an AFI award for Best Actress in a Lead Role for this film ) Bill Hunter, Max Cullen and Deborah Conway.

1984 Shakin was where I really got the taste for Dear Enemy and the Venetians. Two of my favourite bands along with the Models and Mi-Sex. Unfortunetly I grew up in a rural town here in sunny Queensland where if it wasn't top 10 then the chances of getting certain albums wasn't easy but over the years I have been able toi get my hands on most and more recently thanks to blogs like Ausrock, Mad Parade and Striped Sunlight I have been able to replace some of the no longer playable originals that I had. Alas I was not able to save the cover for this one so got a copy from good old Wikipedia.

This tape holds many memories for me. In the early 80's my dad was helping my step brother run a courier business and one night my younger sister and I got to go on a 6hour trip with him and this was the tape my step brother had in the tape deck at the time. I remember falling in love with Icehouse and Mondo Rock thanks to this tape. I couldn't find any details about this one on the web so if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful.

This release was so loved by me that I stretched the poor tape to the point that it actually snapped. Luckily for me I was able to replace it when I happened upon a clearance bin in K-Mart I still had the insert from the original and as you can see the original price sticker is still there. A whole $10.99 which in 1983 was a lot of doing after school jobs.

1981... Rocks On Adding Link

As promised, I am starting the tiresome uploading process for the tapes I am recreating. The first of this is for 1981... Rocks On (get it here) and hopefully I will get time to add at least one more today if not tomorrow.

PLEASE NOTE: I know that the vinyl people out there like to up at 192 and even as high as 320 but lil ole me is upping at 128 so please be aware of this fact before you download my files. Also if anyone is interested, the way I have been ripping these files for the most part has been from the few cassettes I have that are still workable using Mega Sound Recorder, a nifty little program that splits as it goes which I love ( yes I can be lazy ) For the tracks that are just too stretched to save I have been scouring the blogs and web for replacements if I don't have them on the actual artists albums in my own collection. I'd suggest to anyone looking for so of the harder to find tracks ( and I mean rip my hair out, I am never going to find it tracks), that you visit someone like Ausrock at ausrock.blogspot.com. Not only may you find that one your missing but you will definetly have your eyes opened as to just how diverse the Australian Music scene was/is and always will be hopefully. He does a bang up job, and has brilliant contributors.

A while back I decided that I was going to try to replicate my old 80's Various Artists Cassettes, you know, keep the memories alive etc etc. Well it has become a bit of a monster and at times I think I am living breathng the 80's all over again just with a bit less of the fluro clothing. I am loving retracing the music and I am blown away by the resources available for those "I am never going to find that track" sites. One in particular has been a huge source of buried treasures and that is AUSROCK. A brilliant blog with a very knowledgable owner when it comes to Australian music. With very generous contributors adding rare gems this site has been a blessing. So in coming posts I want to share the compilations I have been able to replicate along with other goodies along the way.I may even post a "I'm Begging" link for those tracks that elude me as well as share my own gems.
