Why I Do This

I was lucky enough to be a teenager through the eighties and I was mad on music, big hair, bad make-up and all that went with being a teenager of the times. All these years later I still have the big hair but now it is "touched" with grey and the bad make-up is gone but the tunes still play loudly in my head and even louder if they grace my radio, tv or mp3player. I will gladly admit to being a"mainstream" fan for the most part but I do have the odd liking for some of the less "played to death" bands of the time. What started all this was a drawer full of slowly decaying cassettes and a fear of losing the music that is on them. So I began to recreate them onto CD and I am loving it and finding some fantastic albums along the way.

I would like to re-dedicate this site to my late husband, he lost his long battle with cancer in 2011, he was a huge 80's fan, possibly even more so than myself. So for you my love.

Actually this compilation was on the Starcall/ BMG-RCA record label (if I want to be picky) .... :)

I was convinced this album was never released on CD. This was actually one of the first albums I ever bought on vinyl and has long since been scratched to pieces.

It's difficult to find a good copy of the 7" mix of Rooms For The Memory. The version on the Dogs In Space soundtrack is a different mix. Bizarre Love Triangle and Something In My House on 87 Hits Out are also the 7" single mixes, and are a bit tricky to find anywhere else.

Mad Danno is the man. :) Cheers.

Well there you go, Wikipedia isn't always right John, lesson learned. As for being on CD, it surely is, even I have this one on the Original CD. Just wish I had more originals :(

This one wasn't too hard to track down on CD. So far the hardest has been:

- 1987 Lets Party. I need this still. Ive never physically seen the CD version or even remember it. Ive never seen it listed online in an Auction. If anyone has this on CD please show me a Scan of the CD to prove it exists. :) And perhaps rip it to 256kbps CBR mp3 and upload it to rapidshare + (give Meggsy the link) for sampling ;-p

- Hit Pix 88 Vol 1. Took ages to get this one. Theres been a couple on Ebay that have gone for ASTRONOMICAL prices. But i found it at a sane price eventually.

- Hit City 1987 Doesnt come up on auction sites much. But I have 2 of em.... :). Not brought online.

- Summer 87 was a bit hard to get but ended up with 2 of these as well. However I saw 1 copy of this CD sell on Ebay for $700!!!!! Just stupid.....

Off Topic: I also saw a copy of "The Hulk" XBox 1 game sell for $2000 on ebay. That IS the worst moronic waste of money \ Stupid bidding Ive ever seen on there. Why cant these people bid on my Auctions when I sell some common stuff......

Hey Dan don't get me started on ebay and the way people bid, I collect Jack Daniels and Jim Beam memorabila and I have seen some stupid bidding on that stuff. Then in reverse the things you think will go high in bids don't. I got a Regal China Jim Beam Tea Set from the US for $88 AUD inc postage, the next day I had a guy here in OZ offer me $5oo for it. Go Figure. So yes the CD prices on ebay are sometimes just plain stupid. Don't you just love supply and demand.
